COUPLES INTENSIVE

A couples intensive gives you and your partner dedicated, uninterrupted time to focus on your relationship over one or more days rather than spreading the work across traditional weekly sessions.

Intensives are designed for couples in crisis and couples who are not in crisis at all.

You may be trying to repair after betrayal, facing a major decision, feeling deeply disconnected, or struggling with a pattern you haven’t been able to change. You may also have a strong relationship but want dedicated time to work through a particular issue, deepen your connection, or accomplish more together than your schedules allow in weekly therapy.

For busy couples, concentrating the work into a few dedicated days can also simply fit their lives better.

AMĀAN offers two- and three-day couples intensives, as well as a one-day follow-up intensive for existing clients.

COUPLES INTENSIVES

Sometimes fifty minutes at a time isn’t enough.

There are moments in a relationship when you need more than another conversation squeezed between work, children, dinner, and everything else competing for your attention.

A Couples Intensive gives you dedicated, uninterrupted time to step away from everyday life and focus fully on your relationship.

Some couples come during a crisis — after a betrayal, through a period of deep disconnection, or while facing an important decision about their future. Others are not in crisis at all. They may want to work through something that has lingered for years, reconnect, strengthen an already good relationship, or simply give their relationship the kind of focused attention that everyday life rarely allows.

WHY AN INTENSIVE?

Weekly couples therapy can be incredibly valuable. But sometimes fifty minutes ends just as you reach the conversation you actually needed to have.

An intensive gives us time to stay there.

We can slow down what happens between you, understand the patterns you keep getting pulled into, work through areas of hurt or disconnection, and practice having difficult conversations differently — with enough time to actually do the work.

For busy couples, it can also make practical sense. Rather than fitting therapy into your schedule week after week, you intentionally set aside focused time for your relationship.

WHAT YOUR INTENSIVE LOOKS LIKE

This isn’t a group retreat or a workshop with other couples.

The time is entirely yours.

Before we begin, we’ll take time to understand your relationship, your history, what is bringing you in, and what each of you hopes to accomplish.

That allows the intensive to be shaped around your relationship, rather than a predetermined agenda.

Over our time together, we’ll focus on where you’re getting stuck, the conversations that matter most, and what needs to change for you to move forward differently.
