PREMARITAL PROGRAM

Prepare for the marriage, not just the wedding.

There is a lot of planning that goes into getting married. The venue, the guest list, the finances, the families, and a seemingly endless number of decisions.

Our Premarital Program creates dedicated time to focus on what comes after the wedding: the marriage you’re building together.

You don’t need to be having problems to benefit from premarital work. This is a chance to understand your relationship more deeply, recognize the strengths you already have, have conversations you may not have thought to have yet, and build skills you can carry with you long after the wedding.

No two couples enter marriage with the same story.

You each bring your own experiences, families, expectations, values, ways of communicating, and ideas about what marriage will look like. Rather than taking every couple through the same checklist, we start by understanding the two of you.

We want to know what works well between you, where you tend to get stuck, what each of you needs, and what you hope your life together will become.

A PROGRAM BUILT AROUND YOUR RELATIONSHIP

WHAT YOUR PROGRAM LOOKS LIKE

We start by getting to know you,not just as a couple, but as two people bringing your own histories, families, expectations, and hopes into a marriage.

We’ll begin with a 90-minute session together, followed by a 50-minute individual session with each of you. Then we’ll come back together for a 50-minute feedback session, where we’ll talk about what we’ve learned: the strengths you already have, the patterns worth paying attention to, and the areas we think deserve more of our time.

From there, you’ll have three 90-minute sessions together, shaped around your relationship.

That might mean talking about how you handle conflict, money, intimacy, family and in-laws, children, culture, expectations, roles, boundaries, or the little differences that don’t seem particularly important now but can become much bigger once you’re sharing a life.

There will be things to talk about, things to practice, and probably things you haven’t thought to ask each other yet.

The idea isn’t to prepare you for every problem you might ever have.

It’s to help you know each other, and your relationship, well enough to face whacomes together.
